Bronx Queer Voice Enters

Although the Bronx is minutes away from Manhattan, it has a closer resemblance to Laramie, Wyoming when it comes to queerness.

On Saturday, March 19, 2005, Nelson Torres was attacked by fifteen youth right outside the Bronx building where he lived. Nelson lived to tell. Since then he has been telling and telling and telling.

We've got to tell. The Bronx has got to tell.

This blog is to provide a space for a Bronx Queer Voice to speak out and share with any reader whassup and what's going on and what's queer in the Bronx, The boogie down, The BX.

Stay tuned because there is plenty faggotry and lesbianism in the Bronx. There's BAAD! The Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance and a bunch of Health and AIDS organizations with queer programming. There is even a queer TV show, Fruta Extraña, that is produced in the Bronx and airs all over the city. There are leaders and trailblazers and some regular gay folk.

Come meet us.
